Biology and distribution
Described from Italy (T. consociatus), Germany from birch leaves (P. gracilicornis), former Czechoslovakia (P. obscura) and Austria (P. schillei, T. pallens, T. trisetosa, R. curticornis).
Distribution: Euro-Siberian; also recorded from China and Japan (from Quercus sp., Alnus hirsute, A. firma, Betula platyphylla and Senecio cannabifolius). Mycterothrips consociatus is breeding on deciduous trees, particularly on Alnus, Betula, Corylus, Quercus and Salix.
